got ourselves great weather. this time yesterday morning, you were close to 80. how about that. we have a look at dry air and clear skies. and that will take us through the day with sunshine. we will hit 81 by lunchtime and 85 the two degree guaranteed high. going outside, we open up the windows when you drive around town and say, ah. >> reporter: we love that natural air conditioning. that's always the best. at least for me anyway. we are doing okay out there. no major accidents to report on 95 north of the city or the southwest side. let's look at the jfx at northern parkway. pretty quiet. that's southbound traffic to the right. northbound on the left. a lot of people still getting out the door. so no incidents in your way here. still just wrapping up overnight construction. 95 northbound at route 32. they are trying to take away the two right lanes there. 95 northbound at light street we have construction.

and on the other side of the road 95 southbound past russell streets in the right lane. one more the outer loop at 795. megan. >> thanks so much. a minute after 5. she was trying to cross the street when something terrible happened. a teenage girl and her boyfriend struck by a car. abc2 news linda so joins us with more and an emotional vigil they had for the teen. >> reporter: we are learning more about her condition. shock trauma says she is in critical condition and a family friend says the 17-year-old is kept alive on a ventilator so she can donate her organs. dozens of friends gathered for kara mitchy and sean williams snyder were hit by a car tuesday night them the paid tribute with songs and a candlelight vigil. they were trying to cross ritchie highway when they were hit. police say the two were not in the crosswalk. sheen is -- sean is in critical condition and his condition declined since being taken there. those who knew kara said she

was a great friend and are touched by the fact she will save seven lives with donated organs. elizabeth benfeld's daughter was friends with her. >> she is crazy and goofy and she was the greatest friend to me and my children and my daughter is her best friend and she took care of my youngest very well. we went on trips together. she is just an amazing person. >> reporter: now anne arundel county police are working to put more signs in the area to alert drivers and pedestrian. no word if any charges will be filed against the driver but officials say the driver was not speeding or drinking. in the studio, linda so, abc2 news. >> linda, thank you. the cecil county sheriff office is investigating a accident in northeast acore together -- according to the city of

elkton. a passenger was killed. he graduated last month from perryville high school. two other 18-year-old men were also injured. a baby died following an accident in northeast baltimore. the car smashed right into a tree yesterday evening and it happened near the 2700 block of alameda at harford road near clifton park. there were three people inside and a man, a 2-year-old and a baby. police say the baby was thrown from that car. news time is 3 minutes after 5. pasadena man is behind bars this morning accused of stabbing his wife to death at their home on jones road. this is the daughter you can see her arm wrapped up in banneddages. that's because she tried to save her mother's life early yesterday morning. we learn the married couple was in the midst of a divorce. stephen salb faces the charge of first-degree murder. friends and family pay final respects today to bob bell. the car dealer died sunday. he had been diagnosed with

thursday morning. just a few days ago, we were told a deficit deal was near. but just last night, the biggest breakdown in talks thus far with president obama walking out. the pressure is building as the clock strikes down to the deadline of august 2nd. karen travers has the latest on what's proving to be tense talks. >> reporter: in the nation's capital, the temperatures are soar aing and tempers are flaring. president obama sits down again today with congressional leaders after yesterday's meeting that both parties says it was the most tense yesterday. president obama got into a heated exchange with house minority leader eric kantor. kantor again suggested a short- term increase to the credit limit to avoid a default. a frustrated president obama again issued a veto threat. don't call my bluff he said. and walked out of the meeting. senate minority leader issued his warning to republicans. failure to raise the debt ceiling could be a political

disaster. >> i refuse to help barack obama get reelected by marching republicans into a position where we have coownership of a bad economy. >> reporter: the contentious stalemate is having serious implications. moody's credit agency says they are considering a possible downgrade to the credit rating. >> i think it's fairly safe to say that the stock market would get hit, the bond market would get hit and the economy would get hit. >> reporter: paul rawlings and jan are retireees in north carolina leaving off the 401k retirement -- like off the 401k retirement fund and worried it could take another hit in four years. >> if we got hit the same way we did before we would lose our house and look for a rental apartment in very short order. >> reporter: the president told congressional leaders they have until friday to decide whether a deal on deficit cuts is possible or whether it's time to focus on avoiding a default. karen travers, abc news, washington. 17 minutes after five right

conditioning. and turning it off. and just enjoilg the night -- shall enjoying the nice refreshing air. 50s around great lakes. watch for 70s across the deep south and there's still some oppressive weather down there. high pressure has come in control for us. the heat staying to the south as high pressure brings down the cool air. this area of low pressure stirring up east of cape cod dragging down the northerly flow. wind could be brisk today. you may hear about the wind at the british open causing problems and maybe even impacting some of the tee placements. you didn't know i was paying attention but for us, we will talk about winds that are going to bring in refreshing air and may bring in cloudiness next couple days. but it's going to feel oh so nice. trying to determine and breakdown the impact of this high pressure system because if we get more of an eastern flow there's a hint in the future radar basically it's our computer model that it may enhance cloud cover tomorrow afternoon after mostly sunny start. that wobt only fly in the
